Honoring the leaders and members whose service strengthens our union every day.

At the Spring Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Council (SWAC) meeting, BFT Local 434 had the privilege of recognizing two exceptional members whose dedication and service have made a lasting impact on our union.

As she prepares for retirement, Cyndi Oberle-Dahm was honored for her years of leadership and advocacy as SWAC President. Her unwavering commitment to educators and public education has left a legacy that will continue to inspire those who follow. Local 434 President Ashley Mims shared a heartfelt tribute celebrating Cyndi's many contributions, and we wish her nothing but the best in her well-earned retirement.

The evening also included the presentation of Local 434's Unsung Hero Award to Donna Bauman. Donna's willingness to serve, support her fellow members, and embody the values of our union makes her an invaluable part of Local 434. Her dedication reminds us that the strength of our union comes from members who lead through service.

Congratulations to both Cyndi and Donna. Thank you for everything you have done—and continue to do—to make Local 434 and the labor movement stronger.
